Unmarked Software has announced the release of an update to TextSoap Deluxe, its text processing software for Mac OS X. Textsoap Deluxe 5.6 is a free update for 5.x users, and costs $29.95 or $39.95, for the Standard and Deluxe Editions respectively.
TextSoap Deluxe helps you clean up e-mails, text downloaded from Web pages and other content that may have odd characters, hard returns, quote marks, extra spaces or other “junk.” It can maintain style information, and includes more than 100 “cleaners” to help improve the flow and look of text.
New to this release is support for new Automator workflows. Automator is the AppleScript application included with Tiger that enables you to build complex automated workflows without having to use complicated scripting commands. You can extend TextSoap’s capabilities with AppleScript, Python, Perl, shell scripts and more, according to the developer. The new 5.6 Deluxe version also adds support for the Growl notification system.
Both TextSoap and TextSoap Deluxe gain fixes and general improvements, identification of more variations on curly quote characters, fixes for PowerPC Macs running Mac OS X v10.3.9, cleaner palette filtering issues and issues tied to an empty MyList group.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later. Support for Automator actions and workflows requires Mac OS X v10.4.9.
