Nova media has released FoneLink, software that bridges a connection between content on your Mac and mobile phone. FoneLink costs €25.17 (US$33.87).
FoneLink lets you transfer music, photos, videos and other content to your mobile phone, and it also lets you back up and restore data to the phone — handy for managing firmware updates that blast contact and calendar data from the phone, for example. It’s particularly helpful if you have a phone that doesn’t work natively with Apple’s iSync software.
FoneLink is compatible with an assortment of phones manufactured by Motorola, Nokia and Sony Ericsson — a complete list of compatible models is available from nova media’s Web site.
FoneLink incorporates a “Mobile Finder” that helps you look at the data on your phone, drag and drop files to and from your phone and also access your phone’s flash memory card, if so equipped. The Organizer lets you exchange contact, calendar and task information between your phone, Address Book and iCal, look at SMS messages stored in your phone and transfer those to your Mac, as well.
FoneLink requires Mac OS X v10.4.9 and a compatible mobile phone. A demo version is available.
