Totalview Technologies has announced the release of MemoryScape 2.0, a major update to its memory debugger for Mac OS X developers.
MemoryScape is an interactive memory debugger to help developers identify and resolve memory problems in C, C++ and Fortran code, including multi-process and multi-threaded software. The tool lets you monitor heap memory, view memory usage, locate leaks, track memory events and show corrupted memory.
New features in MemoryScape 2.0 include support for Message Passing Interface (MPI) applications; the ability to debug remote applications, viewing heap allocation and improving navigation; time stamping of memory events; and filtering heap data based on backtrace ID.
MemoryScape supports PowerPC and Intel-based Macs, and also works with Linux and Unix code.
