Hard disk drive maker Hitachi is expanding its retail presence with a new line of external USB hard disk drives aimed at desktop and mobile users. The Mac and PC-compatible drives offer storage capacities ranging from 160GB to 1 terabyte (TB).
The devices come equipped with USB 2.0 cables and are bus-powered, so they don’t need an AC power adapter. What’s more, Hitachi includes Mac and PC-compatible backup software. Each desktop drive features a button that, when pressed, will automatically back up the contents of your Mac’s internal hard drive to the Hitachi storage device. The portable drives also include backup software.
