Chris Paveglio has released version 3 of PDF Bee, the Mac OS X utility that automates the creation of single-page PDF files from multi-page Adobe InDesign documents. It costs $90, or $30 to upgrade from previous versions.
PDF Bee lets you set up a “hot folder” for InDesign files, and can export InDesign documents as well. You can make a PostScript (PS) file or distill a PDF file if you prefer. It’s networkable, and several copies can view a single folder to offer parallel processing for print providers and other high-volume businesses.
New to the 3.0 release is Universal binary support, so it runs natively on both PowerPC and Intel-based Macs. It’s also been updated for Adobe InDesign CS3 and Distiller CS3. PDF Bee no longer requires Suitcase for font activation.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.4 or later.
