Karelia Software on Thursday announced the release of Sandvox 1.2.1, an update to their visual Web page editor for the Mac. A free update for registered users, Sandbvox is available in regular and pro editions for $49 and $79, respectively.
Sandvox enables you to create media-rich Web sites using drag and drop assembly. The software features rich text editing; the ability to publish your site through different means; “pagelets” that embed special content like photos, movies, audio and other content; and more than forty different design templates. The pro version adds features like raw HTML editing.
Sandvox 1.2.1 is primarily an “under the hood” improvement — a maintenance update, according to Karelia. But those improvements enhance speed and usability, according to the developers. On the list of changes in 1.2.1 is improved memory management, which should translate into better performance on larger, nested sites; improvements to designs for better compatibility with Microsoft Internet Explorer 7; and fixes to some pagelets.
Pro users also gain improvements within the raw HTML editor, Google Analytics and when editing JavaScript.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.4.4 or later. Sandvox is a Universal binary.
