The Iconfactory has released Twitterific v2.1, an update to its free utility that lets you read and publish posts on the “Twitter” community Web site.
Twitter saves you from having to open a browser window and visit Twitter that way; you can read “tweets” from friends and public feeds, either in collapsed or expanded modes.
New features to the 2.1 release include Keychain support for multiple Twitter logins, support for the open-source Growl notification system and Newsgator’s NetNewsWire RSS reader. Tweets can now be processed with AppleScript, and you can drag tweet URLs into other applications. The configuration panel has been reorganized, windows are customizable with transparency, shadows and font size, and new hidden preferences (and easter eggs) have been added.
Twitterific 2.1 also sports improvements to multiple URL linking and other changes.
Twitter requires Mac OS X v10.4 and access to the Twitter service.
