Epson America on Monday introduced its Perfection V200 Photo scanner, which features 4800 dot per inch (DPI) resolution and the ability to scan 3D objects. Mac and PC compatible, it costs $99.
The V200 can scan 48-bit color and has a 3.2 dynamic range. Buttons on the front of the scanner enable you to scan, copy to e-mail and produce PDFs immediately. The scanner is equipped with a built-in transparency unit to enable you to scan 35 mm slides and negatives. The lid is a “high-rise” model similar to other Epson consumer scanners that enables it to scan 3D objects.
The V200 comes with ArcSoft PhotoImpression 5 for Mac and ABBYY Fine Reader 5 Sprint Plus for Mac, and it’s also TWAIN-compliant. It’s compatible with Mac OS X v10.2.8 or later.
Epson’s Web site had not been updated with information about the scanner as Macworld posted this article.
