Marketcircle — makers of Daylight and Billings — have released an update to Phoney, their iPhone simulation Web browser. Phoney 1.1 has been released as an open source project on Sourceforge.
Phoney purports to provide a global test bench for developers looking to make their Web sites and Web 2.0 applications iPhone compatible by providing what Marketcircle describes as a “pixel-accurate, full-featured browser” that renders a Web page the same way it will look on an iPhone.
The software is a Cocoa-made application written in Objective-C, and will open any Web site designed to work with Safari.
New to the 1.1 release is a “Zoom to Fit” feature found on the iPhone.
