Griffin Technology on Monday introduced its
PowerJolt for iPhone, a car charger designed to work with the new iPhone. It costs $19.99.
The PowerJolt lets you charge your iPhone’s battery using your vehicle’s cigarette lighter or accessory power socket. It enables you to work with the iPhone even while you’re using it. The charge indicator glows green when the iPhone is fully charged, amber while it’s charging.
The PowerJolt sports an in-line 2 amp fuse to keep the iPhone protected by power surges. It’s also backwards compatible with all iPod models that use the 3-pin Apple dock connector, and with first-generation iPod shuffles as well. A separate USB mini-B-type cable lets you charge while in use with other devices, and the dock connector cable can be detached and used as a sync cable with a computer if necessary.
