Ecamm Network has released an update for Call Recorder, their Skype add-on that enables you to record and archive your conversations using the popular Voice over IP (VoIP) service. A free update for registered users, Call Recorder costs $14.95.
With Call Recorder installed, you can record both Skype audio and video as a QuickTime movie. You control file size and quality, using options like H.264 and AAC file formats. You can add time indexed notes to recordings and more.
New to this version of Call Recorder is an option to automatically discard short recordings and an option to keep the Call Recorder window in the foreground during Skype calls. Call Recorder now respects Skype’s mute button.
What’s more, Call Recorder 2.1 fixes issues that could cause distorted sound when using certain input and output devices on a PowerPC Mac, fixes a warning message with Skype 2.6 or later, fixes a problem which caused the window position to be forgotten after quitting Skype, fixes a bug with default encoding settings on newer Macs and fixes a bug that could cause Skype to hang after a conference call.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later, Skype for Mac 1.4 or later and PowerPC or Intel-based Mac.
