WiebeTech announced Tuesday that it’s shipping 200GB and 250GB versions of its ToughTech mini and ToughTech XE mini pocket drives. the new drives cost $392.95 – $424.95 depending on model and capacity.
The new external hard disk drives utilize 2.5-inch Serial ATA (SATA)-based hard drive mechanisms operating at either 7200RPM or 5400RPM. They connect using Oxford 924 chipsets.
The ToughTech Mini features a FireWire 400, USB 2.0 and dual FireWire 800 interfaces. The ToughTech XE mini uses a combination external SATA (eSATA)/USB 2.0 port and two FireWire 800 ports instead. Both enclosures feature power input if necessary, and all cables are included. The drives are plug-and-play compatible with all modern Macs and Windows PCs.
WiebeTech is offering the ToughTech mini in 200GB 7200RPM and 250GB 5400RPM versions for $414.95 and $392.95 respectively; the ToughTech XE mini comes in 200/7200 and 250/5400 versions for $424.95 and $402.95 respectively.
