Belkin on Tuesday introduced three new compact USB 2.0 hubs for Macs and PCs — the Swivel Hub, Clip-On Hub and Hub-to-Go. They’re priced at $29.99, $29.99 and $49.99 respectively. They’re all coming in August.
The Swivel Hub is a 4-port USB 2.0 hub that features a two-way swivel that rotates 180 degrees (to stay out of the way of adjacent ports). You can angle it upward to provide easy access or top-loading access to the ports. A power port is also included (the device ships with a power supply).
The Clip-On Hub also features four ports, and grips to the edge of a surface (or a bunch of cables). Two of the ports are located on the top of the device. Like the Swivel Hub, the Clip-On Hub also includes a power supply.
The Hub-to-Go features seven USB 2.0 ports. Four ports detach from the base to act as a travel hub; the other three ports remain on the base, which stays on your desk. A rotating connector is included on the detachable hub, similar to the Swivel Hub, to keep adjacent USB ports on the computer free of obstruction. The base stows flash drives, paper clips and notepads in a storage tray. And a power supply is included.
Belkin’s Web site had not been updated with information about the new hubs as Macworld posted this article.
