Adobe Systems has posted updates for Flash Player 9 and Photoshop CS2 and CS3 — information about both updates has been posted as security bulletins on Adobe’s Web site.
Flash Player 9.0.47.0 is the latest build of Adobe’s ubiquitous multimedia delivery software. This version corrects vulnerabilities that can allow an attacker to take control of the affected system by using a malicious SWF file.
Similarly, Photoshop CS2 and CS3 have security vulnerabilities that could allow an attacker to take control using a malicious BMP, DIB, RLE or PNG file. Adobe has released a new CS3 update for Mac and a manual update for CS2 users that can fix the problem.
Adobe calls both vulnerabilities “critical” and recommends that users update their software to correct the problems.
