iLive has introduced the iHT3817DT, a new speaker system for the iPod that features a flat panel design. It’s a “speaker bar” — the dock and speakers are together in one complete unit. It costs $299.99, according to a press release (the Web site identifies the price as $349.99, instead).
Clad in black, the iHT3817DT is designed to complement flat panel TVs, according to iLive. It’s part of the company’s new “Studio Series” line, aimed at upscale iPod accessories.
The speaker bar includes a wireless remote control and uses a motorized iPod docking drawer that disappears when not in use. The speaker system sports two full-range drivers and a built-in subwoofer, and uses “Enhanced 3D Audio” and “SRS TruBass.”
The speaker also incldues AM/FM radio with presets and full-function clock and four built-in EQ settings. The remote lets you control those functions, volume, and iPod functions. It also comes with a built-in AC power cord, auxiliary line input and composite and S-Video input (and output). A mini USB jack lets you connect the speaker bar to a computer for iPod sync.
