Griffin Technology’s StationFinder is a new Web tool optimized for the iPhone that lets users find an open FM frequency in their area, for use with an iTrip or another FM transmitter for the iPod. You can find it at GoiTrip.com.
The iTrip is one of a multitude of devices that connects to your iPod and transmits its audio by low power to a nearby FM radio. It’s helpful for iPod users in cars without an auxiliary jack or iPod connection to listen to their iPod’s music without having to rely on a cassette adapter or another clunky apparatus.
SmartScan StationFinder is a free Web site that helps you identify open FM frequencies in your area that you can use to get good reception from your iTrip You identify what state you’re in and what city is closest, and the software returns a list of open FM frequencies in that area.
What’s more, the site is optimized to be viewable on the iPhone.
