MacPractice, the software for physicians, dentists, chiropractors and optometrists, now features a Health Level 7 (HL7) messaging interface. The 2.2.14 update sports the new feature.
The new update enables medical practices that use MacPractice to communicate with other services that utilize the HL7 industry standard — commonly employed at clinical labs, used by Electronic Medical Record (EMR) services, third-party medical and dental imaging software and more. With HL7 messaging in place, offices eliminate redundant data entry, according to MacPractice.
The update provides bidirectional HL7 messaging; this will enable MacPractice to communicate directly with Spring Medical and ComChart software (two of MacPractice’s alliance partners).
