Denon Electronics on Wednesday announced new networked audio equipment with the iPod in mind. The equipment lets users integrate networking capabilities into A/V components, receivers, video displays and more.
The $179.99 ASD-3N and $229.99 ASD-3W let users stream audio files, pictures and Internet radio stations, and feature iPod command and control capabilities. Both systems sport Ethernet ports; the ASD-3W also supports wireless capabilities. The devices are expecting to come in August and September respectively.
The $699 S-52 and $499 S-32 also feature networking capabilities; they’ll play music streamed from Internet radio sources, network attached storage devices, Macs or PCs or the Rhapsody music service. They also feature built-in iPod docks. They support (unencrypted) AAC, WAV and FLAC-encoded audio.
Denon’s Web site had not been updated with information about the new systems as Playlist posted this article.
