Pangea Software’s Super Pack includes five of the Mac-exclusive game developer’s titles in one package. It’s been around for a while, but on Friday Pangea offered up the Super Pack as a download, saving you the trouble of having a CD-ROM shipped to you. It costs $49.95.
The Pangea Super Pack includes the latest versions of five previously released Pangea Software games: Cro-Mag Rally, Otto Matic, Bugdom 2, Enigmo and Billy Frontier.
All five games work quite well on Intel-based Macs, confirmed Pangea president Brian Greenstone. Only Bugdom 2 and Otto Matic are Universal binaries, however. But the other three titles operate so well within Rosetta that there was no need to update them to Universal binaries, he told Macworld . They’ll operate just fine even on Intel Macs with integrated graphics, such as the Mac mini and MacBook. (With one caveat: Cro-Mag Rally’s multiplayer functions only work in Mac OS 9 — multiplayer in that game won’t work at all in Mac OS X, regardless of whether you’re using PowerPC or Intel-based Macs.)
If you haven’t upgraded to an Intel Mac and you’re still using a PowerPC-based Mac, you’re probably still in luck, too. The minimum system requirements for the games call for a G3/400MHz or faster, 256MB RAM, Mac OS X v10.2.6 or later and an ATI RAGE 128 3D graphics accelerator or better.
