MacPractice, the medical practice management software for the Mac, is now using MySQL 5 database software. And because it’s made the upgrade, the software sports new features, according to the company that makes MacPractice.
MacPractice — sold in versions optimized for physicians’ offices, dentists, optometrists and chiropractors — enables Mac-based doctor’s offices to manage patient records, schedule appointments and manage e-claims, as well as integrate with other medical software.
MySQL 5 supports views, stored procedures, stored routines and triggers, according to MacPractice. There are new improvements to performance as well. The upgrade is available to all MacPractice users current and future, according to the company.
