on Thursday announced the launch of Mac versions of Morpheus Photo Morpher, Photo Warper, Photo Mixer and Photo Animation Suite. The first three cost $29.95 each; Photo Animation Suite costs $59.95. Morpheus Software’s offerings were previously only available for Windows PCs. Free trial versions are available.
Photo Morpher enables you to transform a photo of one person or object into another using two or more digital picture. The software enables morphs to include color transitions, shape changes and size changes. The final rendering can be saved as SWF or animated GIF files, and individual frames can be outputted as JPEG, PNG, TIF and other formats.
Photo Warper enables users distort and exaggerate portions of photos, creating a movie file in the process. Again, the software enables you to export the finish product as a Shockwave or animated GIF file, and built-in e-mail lets you send warps to other users. Photo Mixer lets you mix and blend faces and body parts between two photos; you can render final results in JPEG and PNG formats.
Photo Animation Suite combines all three of the other applications together, and includes 15 sample morphs, warps and mixes.
Professional editions of each of these applications have also been introduced; the pro version supports QuickTime format so the resulting movies can be used with other movie software.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later, G4/400MHz or faster, 256MB RAM and 800 x 600 display.
