Dice Electronics has announced plans to ship its new iTPA-220 in mid-September for $299. It’s a tube amplifier-based iPod speaker system that Dice claims offers audiophile-quality sound.
The iTPA-220 features a dock connector-based charging base and video output capability for fifth-generation iPods. A wireless remote control included with the speaker system lets you control iPod functions including volume and mute next/previous track and play/pause.
The iTPA-220 features dual 6N3 tubes that generate a warm analog sound, according to the company. It also sports auxiliary input if you want to connect another audio device.
The speakers included with the iTPA-220 tout four-inch mid/bass drivers and 1-inch dome tweeters. They’re made of wood and include a bass reflex port for increased bass response.
