3Dconnexion has announced that its SpaceNavigator “3D mouse” now works with Adobe’s Acrobat Professional and Adobe Reader 8 software for the Mac. With the new presets, users can simultaneously pan and zoom 2D PDF documents, rotate embedded 3D content within a PDF document and more.
The SpaceNavigator is a USB-based controller cap that can be twisted, pulled, pushed or tilted to help you navigate 2D and 3D content in a more intuitive manner. It’s designed to be used alongside a keyboard and a conventional mouse.
The SpaceNavigator comes in two versions — a $59 Personal Edition (that allows for non-commercial use and online support only) and the $99 Standard Edition (which comes with an unrestricted license and two years of full support).
Other supported applications include Adobe Photoshop, form-Z, Google Earth, QuickTime VR, SketchUp and Maya.
The SpaceNavigator requires Mac OS X v10.4.6 or later.
