ChroMac is a new service for users of the previous generation of Intel iMacs. The company offers customized aluminum casing for the iMac, for $399 to $499 depending on size.
The cases come in a variety of finishes — everything from a high-gloss chrome to a matte black finish, lime green, flamingo pink, blue and more. They affix to the iMac using two screws, and they don’t block either the built-in iSight camera or the power light.
The cases fit over the top of the iMac, so they don’t block vents or expansion ports on the iPod’s bottom and rear. The company claims that the ChroMac case is twice as thick as the veneer covering new aluminum-clad iMacs, and is therefore more durable.
In addition to the cases alone, ChroMac can also sell a pre-configured iMac with the casing already in place. Visit the online store for more information.
