The night before an Apple product event usually reminds me of Christmas Eve as a child—excitement and nervousness all rolled together. You’re not quite sure what’s going to be under all that wrapping the next day, but you’re hoping for something that totally rocks your world. Of course, since my job involves helping produce a magazine devoted to Apple products—a magazine that usually has to be ripped apart at the last minute based on whatever new thing Steve Jobs has in store—that feeling is usually commingled with a slight dash of panic, as well.
But it’s a feeling I love. Because when Apple delivers, it usually delivers big. And Wednesday was one of those days. Four iPods —three of which sport significant changes—plus new features and a steep price reduction for arguably the coolest gadget to come out of Cupertino in years. Coming on the heels of redesigned iMacs, new versions of iLife and iWork, and with a new operating system just on the horizon, it looks like it’s going to be an exciting ride to Macworld Expo 2008.
There’s nothing like attending a Steve Jobs keynote in person. It’s something every Mac fan should do once. But for those of you who couldn’t attend Wednesday’s keynote in person, I took lots of photos—including several of the beautiful and oh-so-talented KT Tunstall. You can check them out in our .Mac Web Gallery.
