Wacom on Thursday announced the Intuos3 Special Edition, a new version of its USB pen tablet for Macs and PCs used for photo retouching, graphic design and art. The Intuos3 Special Edition comes in three sizes for $369, $409 and $489 respectively.
The Intuos3 Special Edition features a new black and gun metal gray color scheme, a “Classic Pen” in addition to the Intuos3 Grip Pen, a professional accessory kit that includes five standard nibs, five felt nibs, five stroke nibs, five flex nibs, an alternate pen grip, nib removal tool and replacement side switch, transparent overlay and new software applications.
Otherwise the Intuos3 Special Edition sports the same features as the regular Intuos3 — 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity, a contoured palm rest, chordable “ExpressKeys” used to replicate mouse clicks, modifier keys, application commands, and more, Touch Strips you can use to scroll, zoom and change brush size and a five-button mouse suitable for CAD and engineering applications.
The Intuos3 Special Edition comes in 6 x 8 inch, 6 x 11 inch and 9 x 12 inch sizes.
Wacom’s Web site had not been updated with information about the Intuos3 Special Edition as Macworld posted this article.
