At the IBC 2007 event in Amsterdam, The Netherlands this week, Blackmagic Design debuted its new
Multibridge Pro, a pro video editing and conversion system priced at $1595.
The Multibridge Pro supports capture and playback from any SDI, HDMI, analog component, analog composite NTSC/PAL and S-Video device. It also supports 8 channels of AES/EBU digital audio and 2 channels of pro-balanced analog audio. The Multibridge Pro also includes Dual Link 4:4:4 SDI video input and output capability.
The device comes in a 1U rack unit chassis and connects to a host Mac or PC using a PCI Express cable. It works with Adobe Premiere Production Premium and Apple Final Cut Pro software.
What’s more, the Multibridge Pro can be used as a video converter, converting analog or HDMI content to SDI-based broadcast systems. Any analog device can be converted to SDI in and out without using additional converters, according to Blackmagic.
