Steinberg has released details of Nuendo 4, the company’s audio production environment for editors and engineers.
Among the new features in Nuendo 4 is a new automation system. Some of the new functions include Preview mode, Fill commands, Punch Logs, Virgin Territories and the new Touch Collect Assistant. Nuendo also includes 38 upgraded VST3 audio effect plug-ins that cover dynamics, spatial FX and filtering.
The new version includes the MediaBay file management system. MediaBay allows users to browse, archive, retrieve and search media files across any connected drive.
In addition to the launch of Nuendo, Steinberg has also released Nuendo Expansion Kit: Cubase Music Tools for Nuendo 4. An add-on module for Nuendo 4, the expansion kit contains optional music compositional functionality, including full Cubase scoring and notation, the Cubase MIDI Drum Editor, four integrated VST instruments as well as support for the MusicXML standard.
Nuendo 4 is a Universal Binary that is compatible with Intel- and PowerPC-based Macs. Nuendo 4 is priced at $1799.99, with the optional expansion kit module costing $299.99. Both products will be available in October 2007.
