Myvu on Tuesday introduced the Myvu Solo Plus, a new version of its video eyewear that works with all video-capable Apple iPods. The device is coming in early October for $199.95.
The Myvu is a set of video eyewear. You wear it like a pair of glasses, but inside a bar that goes across your line of vision are two solid optical elements that display an image. You can use the Myvu to privately display video content — good for commuting, on plane trips, or elsewhere that you’d like to enjoy video with a degree of privacy. The eyewear also incorporates stereo earbuds.
The Myvu Solo Plus works with all fifth-generation video iPods, the iPod touch, iPod nano and iPod classic. It includes a four-hour battery that’s built directly into the Myvu “pendant,” which provides you with remote power and picture control, so it doesn’t draw any power from the iPod itself.
Myvu’s Web site had not been updated with information about the new Myvu Solo Plus as Playlist posted this article.
