If you’re a designer, typeophile, or just someone who wants to pay attention to graphic design beyond today’s pop culture ephemera and Web 2.0, you should add Richard Weston’s excellent Ace Jet 170 to your daily blogroll.
Weston, who’s based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, has far-ranging interests, and his site reflects that: it is a well put-together hodgepodge of found-type photos (with an expansive flickr collection), map porn, discussions about book design, typography and more. His Elsewhere links list (in the left-hand column) is as good as John Gruber’s, but with a greater emphasis on design and typography.
I regularly find new and worthwhile sites and ideas when I check in, and, as a result, Ace Jet 170 has moved to the top of my NetNewsWire feed list, alongside Daring Fireball, Airbag Industries and Jon Hicks’s Sidenotes. Check it out.
