Online auction and sales site eBay has announced the public beta release of eBay Desktop, an Internet application that runs online and offline, and works on both Mac OS X and Windows.
eBay Desktop enables users to track multiple listings on eBay and manage search queries. When it’s connected to eBay online, it gathers updated informtion continuously, enabling users to view eBay content customized for their interests.
eBay Desktop was developed using Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR). AIR is a technology that lets developers leverage HTML and CSS, AJAX, Adobe Flash and Adobe Flex technologies to create “rich Internet applications” that run as Mac and Windows applications rather than exclusively in Web browsers.
In order to run eBay Desktop you’ll need to have the latest version of Adobe Flash installed.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.4 or later. Download size is 15MB.
