In addition to announcing a range of new instruments, Ableton on Friday unveiled details of its flagship product Live 7 and a new suite that will combine Live with a collection of instruments.
According to Ableton, Live 7 includes enhancements to the audio engine, including 64-bit mix summing, new and improved devices with side-chaining capability, better MIDI timing and hardware integration. Taking suggestions from its users the company also added time signature changes, video export, multiple automation lanes and tempo nudge, among other features.
Live 7 will see a new addition to the application called Drum Rack. Ableton says it streamlines beat production using a drag-and-drop interface and offers native sliced audio and REX file support.
Available in the fourth quarter of 2007, Live 7 will cost $499. The Ableton Suite, which includes Live 7 and a collection of instruments will cost $599.
