WiebeTech has introduced new additions to its RTX TrayFree SATA storage product line.
WiebeTech’s RTX line enables you to install bare 3.5-inch Serial ATA (SATA) hard disk drive mechanisms — up to 1 terabyte in capacity each — without having to use trays or screws. The devices can hold up to eight drives at a time. All of them feature a built-in handle for transportability.
WiebeTech’s expanded RTX line includes a four-bay “JBOD” (Just a Bunch of Disks) unit with FireWire, starting at $1,099.95. That includes four TrayFree bays, eight FireWire 800 ports (two for each bay) and four USB ports.
The RTX600 iSCSI RAID works at up to 100 megabytes per second transfer rate — with six “hardened” TrayFree bays designed with shock protection and a RAID controller that supports RAID levels 0, 0+1, 3, 5, 6 or JBOD operation. The trays are locakable. It starts at $2849.95.
The RTX600 Ultra320 SCSI is similar to the iSCSI model but features an interface that supports transfer rates up to 320 megabytes per second. It’s also priced at $2849.95.
The RTX800 Ultra320 SCSI RAID features eight TrayFree bays, and supports RAID levels 0, 1+0, 3, 5, 6 or JBOD operations. It’s priced at $2849.95. The RTX800 iSCS RAID is similar but it uses iSCSI instead; it’s also priced at $2849.95.
