RocketStream has announced the development of a Mac version of its RocketStream file transfer acceleration software. The company plans to release it closer to the end of the year.
RocketStream enables users to transfer files over TCP/IP networks much faster than they could using FTP, or File Transfer Protocol. The company sees a strong market for the technology in digital content creation and other environments where exceptionally large files are produced and need to be transferred over networks or the Internet.
RocketStream is targeting Macs running Mac OS X v10.4.10 or later with the new release. The release will also support users of various flavors of Windows, including XP and Vista.
