With the holiday shopping season just around the corner, Consumer Reports has published its recommendations on the many retailers vying for our dollars.
Topping the list for the “Best Retailers for Key Products — Computers” is Apple’s Online and retail stores, according to Consumer Reports. While the organization recommended Web retailers like PC Connection, Newegg.com, TigerDirect.com, and Amazon.com for a wide range of brands, they note that consumers may have less flexibility to customize their purchase then if they buy direct from the company.
“Apple ranked at the top for direct Web sales by manufacturers and for retail stores,” said Consumer Reports.
It will come as no surprise that many people have moved a good majority of their shopping online because of convenience and a number of other factors over the last few years.
“Despite being able to see and even touch products in a walk-in retailer, readers who responded to our survey were generally more satisfied with the prices and selection they found online,” said Paul Reynolds, electronics editor at Consumer Reports.
