Prosoft Engineering has updated two of of its Macintosh utilities, Data Rescue II and Data Backup, adding new features and addressing some bugs in the applications.
Data Rescue II 1.1.3 is Prosoft’s data recovery application. The new version’s boot disk uses the 10.4.9 DDK, adding support for Intel-based Macs released after June 2007. It also Includes a mount feature under File as a workaround for external volumes not mounting when booting from the new DDK-based disk.
Data Backup 3.0.3 fixed problem with restoring from previous versions when backup is encrypted; fixed the display of interval backups to display correct starting day; fixed a problem where changed files were not being backed up correctly with versioned CD/DVD backups; and fixed a problem with backing up single files to CD/DVD.
Both applications can be downloaded from the company’s Web site.
