Softpress on Tuesday announced the forthcoming release of Freeway 4.4, a new release of its Web site design software for Mac OS X. The new version will be released in conjunction with Apple’s release of Mac OS X v10.5 “Leopard,” due on Oct. 26th, 2007.
Freeway is a visual Web page editor that enables users to lay out designs similarly to how they use page layout software. It lets you use original art in most formats, then renders it to the correct Web format. Freeway also lets you create “Master Pages” so you can keep consistent themes throughout your site, and then lets you publish them to sites using FTP or automatic .Mac upload capabilities.
New in the 4.4 release of both Freeway Pro and Freeway 4 Express s support for Mac OS X v10.5 “Leopard,” including compatibility with Leopard’s new “Quick Look” functionality. Quick Look lets you view the contents of a file without having to open it in its native application first.
Freeway 4.4 is offered as a free update for registered Freeway 4 users.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.2.8 or later.
