Native Instruments on Thursday announced the release of Traktor 3.3, a new version of its DJ software for Mac OS X and Windows. A free update for registered users of Traktor 3, the software costs $229.
Traktor 3.3 is designed to help disk jockeys work with digital music in their performances. You can drop in loops and samples, mix four tracks at once, patch audio from external devices such as turntables, CD players and hardware-based effects rigs, and more.
New to the 3.3 release, Traktor now integrates with Traktor Scratch, which lets you spin your digital music on vinyl or CD turntables. It combines software and special hardware. Also new in 3.3 is an improved user interface, reworked effects section, extended MIDI sync options, improved integration with the Beatport DJ music download service, enhanced iTunes and iPod support, Leopard compatibility and more.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.4.8 or later, 1.67GHz or faster G4 or Intel-based Mac and 1GB RAM.
