FileMaker released an update on Thursday bringing some compatibility between the database product and Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. Updated products include FileMaker Pro 9 and FileMaker Pro 9.0 Advanced.
The update fixes an issue that caused FileMaker to crash when creating files if the system language and region do not match. However, the update does not fix issues with the FileMaker Pro 9 Instant Web Publishing (IWP) feature running on Leopard.
An update to fix Instant Web Publishing is expected in December, the company said.
The update also does not cover the company’s server products — an update for FileMaker Server 9 and FileMaker Server 9 Advanced is expected in early 2008. For now, FileMaker Server versions do not properly deploy on Leopard.
However, FileMaker Pro 9 and FileMaker Pro 9 Advanced clients running on Leopard do work with FileMaker Server and Server Advanced running on Tiger or earlier versions of Mac OS X.
FileMaker detailed the incompatibilities with Leopard last week.
Specific changes in the update are available on the company’s Web site.
