Griffin Technology on Friday introduced new iPod accessories: the iTrip Auto with SmartScan, AutoPilot and PowerBlock.
The iTrip Auto with SmartScan is an FM transmitter and car charger that automatically finds the three clearest frequencies on your vehicle’s FM radio and saves them for you as presets. It plugs into your vehicle’s cigarette lighter or accessory adapter and connects to the iPod using its Dock Connector. It costs $79.99.
The AutoPilot is a low-profile illuminated automobile power adapter for the iPod that combines track control for the iPod, so you don’t need to go fumbling for the iPod’s Click Wheel when you want to change the song you’re listening to. You can play, pause, play the next track forward and the last track back using the AutoPilot’s controls. Autopilot also includes a lineout port and a 3.5mm-3.5mm audio jack to connect to vehicles that feature auxiliary inputs.
Griffin has refreshed its PowerBlock, a $49.99 AC charger for the iPod. It lets you plug first-generation iPod shuffles directly in to recharge their power; an included USB dock connector cable attaches to other iPod models. The new PowerBlock sports folding prongs and a slimmer profile that doesn’t take up as much space on a power strip. It also has a LED charge indicator light that glows green when your iPod is fully charged.
