SmileOnMyMac on Wednesday announced the release of DiscLabel 5.0, an update to their CD and DVD label design software for Mac OS X. DiscLabel costs $35.95. Users who purchased it after August 1, 2007 are entitled to a free upgrade; all others can pay $15.
DiscLabel is used by people who want to create customized labels and inserts for CDs and DVDs they’ve burned on their Macs. You can import trck lists from iTunes, iPhone, iDVD, Roxio Toast and the Finder, print to most label and paper types, use direct-to-CD printers, use with LightScribe-enabled disc burners, and automate using AppleScript.
The software now features a special clip art browser that lets you view a library of more than 1300 items tagged with keywords that can be searched using a built-in Spotlight module.
Other enhancements to DiscLabel 5.0 include additional templates and simplified image support. Layer effects allow all objects, including text, to have special effects applied to them. Other fixes and improvements have been made, too.
DiscLabel requires Mac OS X v10.4 or later (including Leopard). It’s a Universal binary. A downloadable demo is available.
