Apple on Wednesday released updates to the application software the company includes as part of its Final Cut Studio 2 suite of professional video editing applications. The updates are available either through the Software Update system preference or by visiting Apple’s Support Web site.
Updated versions include Soundtrack Pro 2.0.2; Final Cut Pro 6.0.2; DVD Studio Pro 4.2.1; Motion 3.0.2; Color 1.0.2; Cinema Tools 4.0.1; Compressor 3.0.2; and Pro Applications Update 2007-02, an update to frameworks and shared components used by all the Final Cut Studio 2 applications.
In each case, Apple reports that the updates have “addressed specific customer issues” and improves performance and overall stability.” Individual release notes for each application reveal that Apple has added support for Mac OS X v10.4.11 (also released on Wednesday) and Mac OS X v10.5 “Leopard.”
What’s more, Apple has added support for additional digital video formats for specific applications, such as Sony XDCAM EX, additional HDV formats, native support for additional H.264 formats, and more.
