MacSoft has released a version 1.0.3 patch for its Mac game Age of Empires III. The update is available for download from the MacSoft Web site.
Age of Empires III is the latest installment of the long-running empire-building game series from Ensemble Studios. You travel to the New World to establish a colony on behalf of one of the great imperial powers of the day, building trade routes, creating alliances with local native tribes and your neighbors, mining, harvesting, foresting, hunting, and occasionally going to war to fight for territory and resources.
The 1.0.3 update fixes an “out of sync” multiplayer error that players experienced after upgrading to Mac OS X v10.5 “Leopard.” A crash on the client has been fixed in the event that it times out connecting to a host; a crash in the map data transfer system has been corrected; GameRanger integration has been improved; users are now warned if they try to exit the game using command-Q; and the size of the MP3 decoding buffers have been increased to reduce the likelihood that music will drop out.
This update must be installed prior to installing an update that has also been introduced for the Age of Empires III expansion set, The Warchiefs. The update is available from the same site.
