QuickerTek has unveiled the Dualy, an 802.11n-compatible wireless networking interface that works using USB. It costs $324.95.
The Dualy gets its name from its use of two 500 milliwatt transceivers — the device sports twin antennas to lock in to distant wireless networking signals. The strength of the transceivers is markedly more than what laptops ordinarily product, according to QuickerTek, which claims that most Mac laptops only provide 25 – 30 milliwatts of RF power.
The Dualy clips to Mac laptop cases and takes its power from USB. It supports Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later, including Leopard. It works with 802.11b, g and n-based networks.
