Casual game developer PlayFirst on Tuesday announced the release of Chocolatier 2: Secret Ingredients. The game is available for Mac OS X and Windows and costs $19.95; a 60-minute free trial version is available for download.
Chocolatier 2 follows up on the success of the first game, a business strategy and adventure title which put you in the role of a candymaker hired by Evangeline Baumeister, the scion of a wealthy chocolate-making family. You traveled around the world, recovering family recipes and collecting ingredients from exotic locations.
In this game, a mole has infiltrated Baumeister Confections and it’s up to you to help Evangeline’s granddaughter to build a new empire from the ground up and take over the family business once again. We’ve moved forward in time, from Victorian days to the late industrial age, but the game play is very similar — you travel to 20 cities, acquiring and creating 72 recipes, and have the ability to buy up to six chocolate factories, four shops and one tasting laboratory. There are also secret ingredients and hidden ports for you to discover.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later and a G4/800MHz or faster Mac, 800 x 600 display and 25MB hard disk space.
