SubRosaSoft on Thursday introduced FileDefense 1.0, a new utility to protect Macs from malware attacks. The software costs $69.95 on CD, or $59.95 to download.
FileDefense stops viruses, worms, trojan horses, malicious scripts and network services from accessing personal information, passwords or any other data on your Mac without your permission. FileDefense will automatically alert you to accept or deny the activity. The software also maintains a customizable list of trusted applications; to add new apps to the list, you just drag and drop the app to the FileDefense window.
FileDefense works on Mac OS X v10.4 or later, including Leopard. It requires a G3 or better.
