After a brief hiatus, the redesigned Macworld.com beta version is back online. Based on the feedback from the initial public offering, we’ve made a few changes. This is just the latest iteration on what is certain to be an ongoing refinement of the overall site.
The feature area atop the homepage has now been split. Rather than pushing the most-recent headlines down “below the fold,” they’ve been moved up. The tabbed structure of those headlines remains the same, with an option for sorting by story importance, rating, or the 20 most-recent headlines.
Also in that headline list, you should start seeing a date and time next to each entry reflecting the time the article was posted and adjusted to your local time.
We still don’t have the new forums, newsletter or user registration sections active. But they should be coming soon.
Once again, we invite everyone to start poking around. We have several threads in the Macworld Forum – Redesign section, so feel free to have your say. We’re listening.
