Two major upcoming events propel us over the 100th episode hump. The first is the looming holidays. If, like me, you’ve bought nary a single present, you’ll want to tune into my interview with Macworld senior editor Dan Frakes, who offers gift suggestions for your favorite Mac, iPod, and iPhone user. During that interview we routinely refer to Playlist’s Plays of the Year awards (the year’s best digital-music-oriented gear) and also reference Macworld ’s Holiday Gear Guide from the December 2007 issue.
The second major event is, of course, next month’s Macworld Expo, held from January 14–18. To help prepare you, I offer practical tips for surviving and, more importantly, enjoying your week in San Francisco. I am assisted, in this regard, by a guy dressed as an iPhone.

We go off the rails a bit about Time Machine and backups, Apple TV, Costco, and a wished-for MacBook sub-notebook.
In my conversation with the guy dressed as an iPhone, I mention a few highlights of San Francisco. The San Francisco Chamber of Commerce is more than happy to boast of the city’s many pleasures. Check out the SF Bay Area Travel Guide for Leisure & Business Travelers.
