Newer Technology on Monday announced its new USB 2.0 Universal Drive Adapter. The new device will be unveiled at Macworld Expo starting tomorrow, and costs $29.95.
The adapter is designed to let any raw IDE/ATA or Serial ATA (SATA) hard disk drive component communicate with a Mac (or PC) using USB 2.0. The device works with 2.5-inch, 3.5-inch and 5.25-inch hard drives, and has been tested to work with all drive brands.
Improvements in the redesigned device include connection status LEDs.
It comes with a USB 2.0 to IDE adapter cable, 2.5-inch to 3.5-inch adapter and power adapter.
