I, posing as a concerned reader, am bummed. He/I writes/write:
John Moltz, the creator of the brilliant Crazy Apple Rumors site, is putting the thing on hiatus, and that makes me sad.
I’m not distraught simply because John made my hair more famous than me or thrilled my mother down to her very toes when she was mentioned in an April 21, 2004 post.
No, I’m unhappy because I’m selfish. I spend the bulk of my time thinking about Apple—its products, personalities, strategies, past, and future—and, well, sometimes I take it all a little too seriously. To keep it in perspective I end the day by reading CARS. And now that perspective is going away. Is there anything I can do to ease the pain?
There is. Suck the life out of Moltz’s work.
And by that I mean grab a copy of Rick Cranisky’s donationware SiteSucker or Limit Point Software’s $25 Blue Crab and make a local, browsable archive of CARS’ seven-years worth of wacky Apple rumors for your very own.
Imagine the look of pure delight on John’s face when he opens his bandwidth bill next month! And why? Because you, like me, clearly care about CARS.
(And if you insist on paying something for the privilege you’ll find a handy PayPal Donate button along the right side of the CARS home page.)
